Thanks so much. I will change my way of thinking----and try to think like the PPR people. Even though it may not be what I would really would do in the real world. It’s hard! Perseverance will pay off----- I am going to defeat this enemy.

@Paula, Sorry to hear you're having difficulty with the test. It's definitely not a test that I'd ever want to take again.

I think what helped me the most with the test was taking practice tests and reviewing the answers that I missed. There were several questions that I missed on practice tests because I went with what I thought was the best answer, not what the PPR people thought. It's really a mindset that you have to get in in order to pass the test. Even still, there were questions on the actual test that left me dumbfounded.

Other than taking practice tests and stepping through all your questions one by one, the other thing I recommend is dissecting the question. Underline the who, what, where and why parts of the question. It's very easy to misread the question, and they do throw curveballs in the question. Pay attention to the attributes of the students and the teacher.

Hopefully you haven't heard all of that before. ;) Good luck!

Do you have any advice on passing the PPR? I keep missing it by a few points and I am getting frustrated.

Thanks for the comments. I understand the frustration with not having someone who is experienced in the industry, but this is not something that Bastrop is at fault for. In fact, you should thank them for taking a risk on me, and new teacher, instead of going with someone else who had many more years experience in teaching but may not have known the topic as well.

If you're interested in learning more about web development, I suggest you check out the following sites:

Thanks again for leaving the comments. I'm glad to have had the chance to teach y'all.

Yeah, it really sucks to lose one of the few people from Bastrop HS that knows what they are actually talking about. Don't think I would have ever been taught CSS if you hadn't come along. Good luck!

Good luck Mr. Lamping, you were a great teacher. I learned quite a bit in your class. It's kind of amusing that it took them a semester to give us someone who knows what they're doing and he's already gone.

sidenote - looks like you've got an include error on a couple of pages.

I wore my contacts today which I rarely do because they're old and they strain my eyes (must make appt. to go to the eye doctor). I told the kids what was wrong after they asked why I was wiping my eyes. Sean looked at me with a serious look and responded, "Persevere, Miss. Richter."

Indeed, Sean. Couldn't have said it better myself.
